Where Water Breaks
Seven overhead photographs study the Atlantic edge at two scales: three wider views of clear winter water and sunlit granite, followed by one surge through approach, contact, fracture, and return. The works are available by inquiry as archival photographs or as a bespoke mixed-media installation.
Open Water, Granite Line
Cold, clear water holds most of the frame while the sunlit granite gathers at the lower edge. The distance between calm surface and breaking line becomes the subject.

Warm Stone, Cold Water
Morning light warms the rock while the water stays deep blue-green. Foam draws and redraws the boundary between them.

Clear Edge
Through clear winter water, submerged stone continues the shoreline beyond what is dry. The visible coast and the hidden coast occupy the same field.

I · First Line
Before impact, the wave becomes a measured edge—one pale line moving toward stone.

II · Contact
Water reaches the rock and the clean line begins to divide, gathering pressure around every interruption.

III · White Field
At full contact, foam overtakes the frame and the shoreline becomes a field of force, residue, and light.

IV · Return
The surge releases its hold. Water opens again, leaving the rock and a final trace of the event.
